Types Defined

From Milton Terry’s Biblical Hermeneutics, pg. 336:

In the technical and theological sense a type is a figure or adumbration of that which is to come. It is a person, institution, office, action, or event, by means of which some truth of the Gospel was divinely foreshadowed under the Old Testament dispensations.
